Mark became a golf professional in 1990, playing the Nike Tour and other mini-tours. His first club professional job was at Congressional Country Club in 1992. He became the teaching professional at Rolling Road Golf Club in 1993, and joined the Suburban Club staff in 1997.

Jay Newcomb, PGA

Jay Newcomb, born and raised in Odenton, MD. Jay has been around the game since he was born. His dad was a Golf Course Superintendent, so from the time he could walk he had a golf club in his hand. His passion for the game opened a path to being a PGA Professional at The Suburban Club. In 2019, he graduated from Coastal Carolina University and went through the PGA Golf management Program while pursuing a Business Management degree. He did his Internships at The Suburban Club, Cattail Creek, and the Chevy Chase Club. In addition to working in the golf business, Jay loves to play in tournaments. He has seen a lot of success in his first full year as a PGA Professional. He finished 5th in the Mid Atlantic PGA Assistant's Championship and qualified for the National event. He also played against Maryland's best in the Maryland Open and finished 5th as well. His other hobbies include spending time with family and friends, playing the occasional video game. and backyard games.

Blake Murphy

Blake grew up in Baltimore, MD, and his passion for turf management began while working on the grounds crew at Woodholme Country Club in high school. After graduating from Gilman Blake earned his B.S. in Agronomy from the University of Maryland. While attending UMD Blake worked summer internships on golf courses in Maryland, South Carolina, Arizona and New York. After graduating he worked as the Assistant Superintendent at Country Club of Maryland in Towson, MD and Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, VA. Blake was hired as the Golf Course Superintendent at The Suburban Club in 2005. Blake enjoys spending time with friends and family, following the local sports teams and unwinding at a family cabin in Pennsylvania.

Teddy Blauvelt

Title

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Teddy grew up in Baltimore, MD and worked at Carroll Park Golf Course in high school where he was introduced to turf management. Teddy earned his certificate in Golf Course Management from the University of Maryland Institute of Applied Agriculture while working as an intern at Chevy Chase Club. Teddy then worked as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Chartwell Golf & Country Club before being hired as the Superintendent Hampshire Greens Golf Club. In pursuit of private club experience, Teddy was hired as an Assistant Superintendent at The Suburban Club in 2019. Teddy enjoys spending time with his family especially his niece and nephew, fishing and golfing with friends, cooking (and sharing a few bites with his dog, Dexter), and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Maryland basketball teams.

David Corley

David grew up in Corriganville, MD where he worked on the grounds crew at Cumberland Country Club while in high school. David earned his B.S. in Plant Science from the University of Maryland and interned at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Upon graduating David was hired as the 2nd Assistant Superintendent at Hillendale Country Club. After two years at Hillendale CC David was hired as the Spray Technician at Baltimore Country Club. David was hired as an Assistant Superintendent at The Suburban Club in 2016. In his free time David enjoys hiking with his wife, Jen, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, watching dirt track racing and iRacing.
